Thomas Breheny – Managing Director
He has 30 years experience as an Electrical Engineer working within the Construction, Oil & Gas Industry and also with Mining.
He has wide experience in Commercial and Technical Management of power generation projects. Mr Breheny previously was MD of a new renewable energy company which was part of a large listed PLC group, he has managed the business development of Harworth Energy, and has initiated projects across the UK in Wind, Renewables, Waste and CMM.
He has International experience in Carbon projects, in China, Indonesia, Russia, Kazakhstan and the US many of which are currently ongoing.
Key experience area – Commercial/technical project feasibility modelling.
Neil Butler – Design Engineer and Project Technical Development
Power Generation and Process Engineer, 18 years experience in renewable power generation, CMM (coal mine methane) utilisation / destruction, and VAM (ventilation air methane) destruction. Neil has extensive operational experience in managing power generation plant and flaring for CMM. Responsible for over 50MWe of CMM and AMM power generation project development. Key experience area – power station design, process safety design, fuel resource assessment
Bill Tonks – Coal Mine Ventilation and Drainage Design and Safety
Bill is a Chartered Coal Mining ventilation and drainage specialist, with over 26 years in both underground safety and in AMM (abandoned mine methane) power generation, resource assessment and utilisation. Responsible for over 40MWe of AMM power generation project development. Key experience area – underground ventilation and drainage design, AMM resource assessment
Charlie Yates – Coal Mine Ventilation and Drainage
With almost 40 years of both practical and management level experience in coal mine environmental safety, Charlie is one of the most respected professionals in his field. Having managed coal mine ventilation and methane drilling operations at both coal mine and headquarters level, he has seen almost all types of methane drainage drilling and ventilation arrangements, and has been involved in many emergency recovery situations over his career. For the last five years Charlie also has responsibility for operational management of up to 45MWe of CMM power generation across eight sites. Key experience – underground gas safety, drilling and CMM utilisation
Gary Rushforth – Coal Mine Ventilation and Drainage
Gary has more than 30 years of experience in operational management of coal mine underground environments. Having managed ventilation and gas drainage at many coal mines in the UK, he has spent the last four years operating methane extraction plant, generation equipment and methane destruction flares. He has also extensive experience in CMM/AMM resource assessment, having travelled widely in support of projects to Russia, China and Kazakhstan.
Matthew Hill – Design Engineer, Project Manager
Matthew is responsible for execution of design engineering projects within Harworth Energy. Following graduation from Loughborough University, Matthew worked for Caterpillar on engine design and development. After leaving Caterpillar he worked on two power plant projects for UK Coal Plc, a 12MWe AMM (abandoned mine methane) projects using GE Jenbacher 620 reciprocating engine generators, and a 7MWe CMM (coal mine methane) project using GE Jenbacher 420 reciprocating engine generators. Matthew has travelled to more than 50 coal mines as Consultant extensively across China in support of CMM and VAM utilisation/destruction projects, carrying out technical feasibility, due diligence and resource assessment. |
